About the Role
We're looking for a senior firmware engineer who can independently own the reliability of Hoomanely's embedded systems from real-time sensor arbitration on shared buses to fleet-wide OTA delivery that never bricks a device. You've led firmware teams, driven low-level architecture decisions, and shipped connected hardware to production in a fast-paced, sensor-driven environment — pet wellness, wearables, or IoT.
What You'll Do
- Architect and build reliable, real-time firmware on an RTOS, tuned for determinism, power efficiency, and long-term field stability
- Lead sensor and bus arbitration across I2C, SPI, and UART — no data collisions, no timing failures under load
- Own BLE firmware design, balancing continuous high-frequency streams with bursty event-driven data, without loss
- Design and harden OTA pipelines — canary rollouts, rollback, boot-loop recovery — for a live device fleet
- Own firmware-level battery charging safety, clock tree stability, and thermal cutoff logic, working closely with the hardware team
- Take end-to-end ownership of one or more firmware modules, balancing reliability, maintainability, and time-to-market
- Set and enforce firmware testing standards, including hardware-in-the-loop and automated testing
- Mentor firmware engineers, review code, and raise the engineering bar across the team
- Work in an agile environment alongside hardware, ML, and app teams — sprint planning included
Required Qualifications
- 12 years of experience
- B.Tech from a Tier 1 Institute
Why Join Us?
- Own firmware reliability for a category-defining, sensor-driven product — not a legacy stack
- Solve the hardest low-level problems in pet health hardware: real-time sensing, connectivity, fleet safety
- Take full ownership from day one, with a direct line to hardware, ML, and founding leadership
- Build the team you wished you'd had — hire, mentor, and set the bar
